What Happens When We Get Bored of the News

When there is SO much news all the time, what happens when we get a little reprieve from it?  You get this gem…

I guess posting an uneventful video and calling the Vice President a homophobe is what we do.  I’ve watched the video a few times, and I see nothing strange in this video.  How indoctrinated or bored must you be to post this video as “proof” Mike Pence is a homophobe?  Or does the poster not care about it being proof and just wanted to claim Pence is a homophobe?  I think this video would prove that he isn’t.  A true homophobe would have thrown a tantrum.

People just throw these negative labels out with such whim anymore.  To put this “label” of homophobic in perspective, have you ever been around someone scared of spiders?  Imagine If Pence suffered from arachnophobia and Sinema were a spider, do you think he’d be smiling and be able to act professionally?  The answer is no, he would be screaming and running away from her.

Propaganda is Everywhere

Vox.com is a “news” outlet. They are also propaganda, there are loads and loads of Vox debunking videos on YouTube. This is one of their latest propaganda

It’s so steeped in crap, they actually wrote a debunking article of a debunking video that debunks their original article. I’ve watched too many Ben Shapiro, Milo Yianopolis and Jordan Peterson videos to know that free speech on campus is dying. This is a long video, but it is worth the watch, and just by being online proves my point that they are just spewing propaganda.

Typically they move the speech somewhere that doesn’t fit many people and/or off campus. It’s depressing colleges are like this, they are supposed to be THE place to be to exchange ideas, but instead now they just pander and make “safe spaces”. Colleges are like a dead corpse, whats left at campuses are the hair and nails that keep growing.

Keep thinking for yourself, and be aware of the propaganda around you. It’s everywhere!

A Couple Ways CNN (and others) Can Heal Trust

CNN has a major problem on it’s hands.

poll

They aren’t trusted, especially among Republicans, and we all know the trust hasn’t gotten better since 2015.  How can CNN (or any other network for that matter, since it isn’t only a CNN problem) get their trust back?  We are going to discuss a couple issues, they can deal with to solve this trust problem.

Anonymous Sources

They need to stay out of reporting for anonymous sources.  I get staying anonymous is VERY important, but they don’t apply that to their opposition as well, as seen in the video above.  If you skipped the video, the context of it is, CNN reports on people that don’t want to be reported, and hides their “sources”.  Anonymity protects individuals, but that means there is no accountability for lies, and the double standard is strong.  Especially when you hear about them trying to get juror names and addresses.  I’d imagine if they gave their sources, and normal people like us could vet them with our own opinions, that would repair some of the damage they’ve caused.  Also, stop doxxing people!

Bias Masked as Neutral

bias

CNN claims they are unbiased.  The quickest google search can shows you that isn’t true, as seen in the picture above.  If you pay attention to politics, it isn’t hard to see who is and who isn’t politically charged.  Most main stream news outlets lean left, and CNN is no different.  Fox is the only main stream news network that has a right leaning.  Is being politically charged a bad thing?  No, the problem lies when you are either ignorant about your bias, or you are lying about it.  This can be the difference between fake news and not fake news, as you can see from the Project Veritas video below.

The solution to the bias problem is to just admit it.  Reach out to the public to let them know you have a bias and you then make a promise to TRY to remain neutral on as many publications as possible.  Then you can have all the opinion journalists you want on the air.

Stop being a “brain” for your audience, give the news, let them make up their minds.  Be honest and admit your bias and mistakes.  And for goodness sake, stop hating Trump 24/7, the guy isn’t Hitler.
