The NPC Meme Is for Free Thinkers

I LOVE this!  No meme has hit me quite like this NPC (Or Non Playable Character) meme.  In my real life store, I constantly have people talking about the same things.  Let’s take the weather for example, about half of my total interactions consists of, “it’s nice out” or “it’s terrible out”.  The hoards of people that do this is astounding.  There are a lot of people that just aren’t as clever as they think they are.

What is the NPC meme?  Basically it is used to show how there are so many people out there who don’t seem to have original thoughts, so they just spout whatever they see others, or the media, say or do.  Like a programmable robot.  The term NPC comes from video games, they can range from; generic characters that give small bits of lore or information, task givers that will reward the player after a completed goal, or even as an obstacle that blocks the players way.  If the game has multiple characters you can play/recruit, the NPC’s can be distinguished from their often dull, repetitive or ordinary looks and can only repeat a few lines of dialogue, unless there is a special event or cut-scene.

Now that I have seen the NPC meme, and I understand it.  I can’t help but think of a lot of people like that, especially the ones that show the exact same behavior as others.  let’s not forget to mention people online screaming “bot” or “Nazi” every time you make an argument they don’t like.  The political left and Social Justice Warriors have claimed this to be an attack on them, but really it’s an attack on anyone who isn’t a free thinker.  That goes both ways people!

This really hits on what Kanye West has been tackling for the passed year, free thinking.  People who are mad at him for saying “You don’t have to vote Democrat if you are black”, are NPC’s.  Just because Kanye likes Trump doesn’t mean you have to, and Kanye can like whoever the hell he wants.  There is no reason to blindly follow others and let them act as your brain.  Be a thinker, not an NPC!
